The steel structure of Shenzhen Airport Satellite Hall was successfully capped

On the same day, with the slow hoisting and precise splicing of the Z-shaped rear truss steel beams, the steel structure project of the satellite Hall of Shenzhen airport was fully capped, laying a solid foundation for the smooth completion of the satellite hall and its supporting projects. As one of the core projects of the new phase expansion of Shenzhen airport, the satellite hall is an important infrastructure for Shenzhen airport to build a high-quality and innovative international aviation hub. It is planned to be put into use next year. After it is put into use, it will be of great significance to improve the airport's service guarantee supply capacity and enhance the airport's hard power in the construction of double zones and the high-quality development of civil aviation.

The projected area of the steel structure of the satellite hall is equivalent to 10 football fields.

It is understood that the satellite Hall of Shenzhen airport was officially started in December 2018, with a total construction area of about 239000 square meters. It is composed of central, Southeast, northeast, southwest and northwest corridors, and the plane projection is X-shaped. The satellite hall is divided into four floors above ground and one floor below ground. There are 42 fixed end boarding bridges. According to the plan, the satellite Hall of Shenzhen airport will be completed and put into use in 2021. It will be connected to the current T3 terminal through the rapid transit system, which will help further release the space resources of Shenzhen airport and better support the construction of a high-quality and innovative international aviation hub.

The steel structure of the satellite hall is composed of the lower gold steel column, roof and boarding bridge. The total steel consumption is about 23000 tons, which is equivalent to the steel consumption of half the T3 terminal. Among them, the roof span is 90 meters, the steel structure of the roof is about 11000 tons, and the projection area is about 76000 square meters, which is equivalent to the size of 10 standard football fields. According to the relevant person in charge of Shenzhen Airport expansion project headquarters, the satellite Hall of Shenzhen airport, as a key construction project of Shenzhen and national civil aviation, has been widely concerned by all walks of life since its construction. Since the beginning of this year, in the face of the adverse impact of the epidemic on the construction of the satellite hall, Shenzhen airport and the participating units have taken the lead in resuming work and production in the city on the basis of strict prevention and control of the epidemic, and have vigorously organized human and material resources to supplement the construction period day and night. In July last year, with the successful completion of the first crane, the steel structure construction of the satellite hall was officially launched. At the peak of construction, five areas in the southwest and northwest of the satellite hall were constructed at the same time. Five large crawler cranes, more than 60 truck cranes and more than 1000 construction workers were put into construction, effectively ensuring the construction progress and quality of the steel structure project of the satellite hall, and finally achieving the recent steel structure capping.

BIM Technology was first applied to domestic airports.

In recent years, Shenzhen airport has helped improve the intelligent level of the airport and achieve high-quality development through digital transformation around the smart strategy and the concept of building high-quality projects. In the steel structure construction of the satellite hall, Shenzhen Airport took the lead in applying BIM (building information model) technology for management in domestic airports, coordinating the overall construction scheme through visual building models, ensuring that different construction methods and equipment can be adopted in each area according to the actual situation on site, monitoring the construction progress in real time, and effectively helping the satellite hall project to construct well and quickly.

Because the steel roof structure of the satellite hall is an inverted triangular cross steel truss + triangular cone welded spherical grid structure, there are many rod assembly and assembly limb points of the air unit, and the structural deformation is large during installation and unloading. Therefore, we simulated the whole process of steel roof installation through BIM Technology, which solved the problem of steel structure installation accuracy and deformation control. It is reported that BIM Technology runs through all stages of the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the satellite Hall of Shenzhen airport, realizing the sharing of building information in the whole life cycle. With the help of BIM Technology, Shenzhen airport has strengthened the refined management of the satellite hall project, effectively strengthened the project progress and quality control, and improved the management efficiency.
